Have you ever taken a look at what belief or need might be behind a choice that you are making? Why do you choose the things you choose? From something as simple as the way you drive home. You might respond, "I always go that way."

Why are you always a few minutes late, you might respond, "I had no control."

Typically we keep repeating the same behavior over and over. Often it is out of habit, simply because we never thought to take a look. If we look at what belief might be driving that behavior, we might choose a different response.

Believe it or not, we do things to satisfy a need. If you believe that you are a person who always runs late, you will satisfy that need to be late because someplace there is a payoff - you are actually getting something out of it. Humans are built that way!

So if a certain behavior has been driving you lately - take a look at the belief you may have about yourself ("I am a person who is always late."). Take a look at the need you are satisfying by choosing that behavior (the feeling that comes from rushing...) and realize that you always have a different choice you can make - even if you have always done it that way!

Make the Intentional Choice to respond differently.
