Another year has just begun and you have an opportunity to choose something that you really want for yourself this year. Imagine that it is the end of2005 and the one thing that you wished for has actually shown up. Wouldn’t that feel great? What would you hear or see when you realized that it had happened?

You have a choice – are you willing to reach this year? I wish you the consciousness of knowing what you want. I wish you the courage and boldness it takes to put it out there! Maybe you will start small and finally put away the pile that’s been sitting on the counter. Maybe you will go big and tell someone else something you have imagined that you have never dared to share out loud.

“We reached for something we thought was a dream and we made it a reality.” That is the class motto I wrote in 1973. I entered it in the contest for my high school class and I was too embarrassed to sign my name to it - afraid what others would think when they realized that I had imagined it – I had made it up. It was chosen but they never knew its author. I’m making the choice to share that with you today that I was the author. I want to write something that inspires others this year.

I wish you the courage it takes to reach for something you really want in 2005. Get specific and then get going.
